We, the undersigned are petitioning our senators and congressional delegation to change the Superfund cleanup laws. Members of the delegation need to support legislation that brings relief to small businesses. Currently, small business owners are held responsible for oil contamination, even though they followed the proper procedures for using state and federally licensed waste handlers. Placing blame at this level is unacceptable and alternative mechanisms must be put in place.
